Senior CAD Designer

To help take our mission to the next level, we are seeking an energetic, business-savvy, technically grounded new team member to join the ACC family as a Senior CAD Designer.

Senior CAD Designers support the organization by providing engineering and design support to Engineers, Scientists, and Project Managers within the company. The individual also carries a desire to grow in their engineering career and develop their professional skills and attain further certifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the maintenance of Company CAD design standards.

  • Understand and visualize overall civil engineering concepts, such as grading, and translate abstract concepts to three-dimensional (3D) design drawings.

  • Analyze sketches, notes, data and other input material to determine the best approach to complete a drawing set and/or technical report.

  • Evaluate requirements and produce CAD drawings based upon rough sketches and designs provided.

  • Drafting, editing, and finalizing reports and design plans and details using appropriate and efficient methods adhering to Company standards.

  • Managing the production of drawing sets and technical reports from creation, markup and modification based on overall design.

  • Maintain a liaison with key engineers, geologists, and IT professionals within or outside of the Company with responsibility to act independently on technical matters.

  • Works collaboratively with other designers, scientists, and engineers to prepare design drawings, technical reports, details, and review completed work to ensure quality.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Eight (8) or more years CAD design work and/or technical reporting experience. Associate degree required. CAD Training Program Certificates a plus.

  • Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Working knowledge of various techniques and engineering practices.

  • Collaborates productively with other team members.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work in multi-tasked environment and adapt to flexible project schedule.

OTHER DUTIES:

Additional duties may be assigned to complete or enhance job function.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work primarily performed in indoor office setting in support of Project Managers, Engineers and Environmental Scientists. Environmental factors are subject to change without notice on occasion. This job operates in a professional team fostered office environment.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position may require standing, bending, kneeling, and sitting for continuous periods of time longer than thirty minutes. Physical strength and agility must be sufficient to permit the employee to repeatedly lift objects weighing a minimum of two pounds; and up to fifty pounds. Pursuant to ADA guidelines, reasonable accommodations will be made where applicable to perform the essential functions of the position.

TRAVEL:

Occasional US travel may be required for 10 percent of the time.
